The role emphasizes evidence-based practice, patient safety, and comprehensive documentation in the EHR. A BSN is preferred, with BLS certification and active RN licensure required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a board-approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license with privileges to practice in the state(s) served.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Typically 1 year of clinical nursing experience.
• Preferred BSN degree.

Responsibilities

• Engage in governance and quality initiatives to improve care.
• Utilize nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement and evaluate care with patient families.
• Monitor patients, adjust care plans, and collaborate with the care team.
• Uphold safety culture and document in EHR accurately.
• May float to other units as needed and maintain age-specific care knowledge.
• Demonstrate effective communication and professional development.
