Job summary

TriStar Summit Medical Center in Nashville, TN seeks a PRN OR Nurse to evaluate patients before surgery, educate families, and lead prep work including IV therapy and preoperative meds. You will participate in safety checks, timeouts, and documentation, collaborating with surgeons and OR staff to deliver safe, efficient perioperative care.

The role requires current RN licensure, an Associate Degree, and at least 1 year of circulating RN experience in OR settings with BCLS/CPR within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing.
• BCLS or CPR certification to be obtained within 30 days of start date.
• Minimum 1 year of circulating RN experience in operating room settings.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education about procedures and peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy and preoperative medications.
• Assist with surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care with evidence-based practices.
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and surgical staff as part of the team.
• Document patient condition and care provided throughout shift.
• Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatment, and follow-up steps.
