Job summary

USMD Hospital at Arlington is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality care within the care delivery team. The RN will apply independent judgment, collaborate with physicians and staff, and support patients and families throughout the continuum of care.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program, current Texas RN licensure (or compact), BLS and ACLS on hire, and prior healthcare experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current RN Licensure in Texas or Compact, or board eligibility.
• BLS and ACLS certification required upon hire.
• Previous healthcare experience preferred.
• Provide patient education and care per nursing process.

Responsibilities

• Delivers quality nursing care while minimizing infection risk.
• Performs competencies per validation form.
• Confirms patient identity using two identifiers.
• Provides updates and education to patient and family.
• Follows exposure control plans for pathogens.
• Communicates safety hazards to peers and management.
• Demonstrates cultural sensitivity.
• Participates in performance improvement.
• Delivers nursing care including education, planning, pain management, and discharge planning.
• Anticipates deteriorating life signs or equipment malfunctions and takes action.
• Provides compassionate emotional and spiritual support.
• Demonstrates proper body mechanics.
• Wears proper identification.
