Job summary

TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield, Tennessee seeks an Operating Room Nurse to collaborate with surgeons, nurses and staff to deliver safe, patient-centered perioperative care. You will educate patients and families, participate in surgical site procedures and ensure adherence to universal protocols.

In this role, you’ll assess patients pre- and post-operatively, manage IV therapy and medications, and contribute to continuous improvement in patient safety and workflow efficiency

Qualifications

• ACLS, BLS and PALS certifications completed or in progress within specified timelines.
• RN licensure with active status required.
• Relevant nursing degree from an accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy and preoperative meds.
• Participate in universal protocols: briefing, time-out, debriefing.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centered care.
• Collaborate with providers, surgeons and surgical staff.
• Apply nursing process with critical thinking and leadership.
• Monitor patient condition and document changes.
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment and follow-up.
