Job summary

University Medical Center Phoenix is seeking an Equipment Tech to support the Surgery department. This role ensures safe functioning of operating room equipment, maintains the perioperative equipment management program, and coordinates equipment evaluations with staff and vendors in a fast-paced environment.

The position offers full-time hours (40/wk) with a 6:00 AM–2:30 PM shift, Monday–Friday, and on-call responsibilities including holiday rotation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• 1 year of perioperative or procedural services, biomedical, or related experience.
• Strong communication, time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and minor repairs; coordinates major repairs with vendors.
• Serves as first-line resource for equipment troubleshooting across department specialties.
• Maintains documentation and weekly status updates for equipment.
• Performs safety checks on all equipment prior to patient use."
• Oversees efficient OR room turnover by coordinating equipment needs and status.
