Job summary

The University of California, San Francisco is seeking an OR Equipment Technician who will support the patient care team under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The role focuses on improving OR efficiency and patient care outcomes by handling equipment, supplies, and data entry.

You will maintain clean, safe work areas, assist with installation and maintenance of equipment, and collaborate with physicians and staff to ensure timely preparation and billing information.

Qualifications

• Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities and perform well under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Demonstrate strong personal computer and typing skills.
• Ability to understand the complexities within a specialty department.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.

Responsibilities

• Under close supervision, perform repetitive laboratory procedures that require special training and skill typically with theoretical background in one scientific field.
• Under close supervision, perform limited variety of repetitive standardized tests or procedures.
• Receives specimens/materials, ascertains their acceptability against established criteria, investigates incomplete or unacceptable submissions, and provides timely follow-up communication with appropriate individuals/departments/offices when materials are determined to be unacceptable or lack adequate information for billing or clinical processing.
• May assist with the servicing of equipment and system.
• Input data into system.
• May assist with installation, operation, and maintenance of laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Maintains clean, safe work areas.
