Job summary

UMC Health System is seeking an Environmental Service Assistant for a Monday–Friday 6:30am–3:00pm shift to support operating room activities and patient care. You will help prepare sterile supplies, transport patients, and assist with room turnover in a high-demand surgical environment.

The role requires a High School Diploma and at least 1 year of environmental service experience. You will work with hospital staff to maintain safety and cleanliness, following strict infection control procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 1+ year of experience in environmental service or related role.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper cleaning, setup of sterile supplies and equipment for surgery.
• Transport patients between care units as needed.
• Handle transport and disposition of specimens and cultures.
• Assist with room turnover and cleaning between cases, including trash and soiled linens.
