Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an OR Aide/Operating Room Assistant to support surgical teams in a fast-paced environment. You will transport patients and specimens, assist with patient handling, and help move equipment and supplies to ensure efficient operating room operations.

The role requires flexibility for weekend shifts, on-call coverage, and adherence to hospital policies and patient care standards.

Qualifications

• High School graduate.
• BLS (Provider) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Previous hospital experience preferred in transport or Environmental Service.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Transport surgical patients and equipment within the OR environment.
• Assist in the operating room with patient lifting, positioning, and transfer as directed by nursing staff.
• Move specimens and blood products as directed, and transport supplies for OR use.
• Maintain clean and orderly work areas and communicate task status to the team.
