Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking an OR Anesthesia Support Technician to assist anesthesiologists and nursing staff in surgical, obstetric, and diagnostic procedures. You will prepare equipment and monitor patients to support anesthesia delivery.

This role requires a high school diploma and Basic Life Support certification, with preferred credentials including an Associate’s degree or EMT certification, plus experience in operating room support.

Responsibilities

• Assist anesthesiologists and nursing staff with patient care tasks.
• Prepare patient equipment and assist with intubations and regional anesthesia.
• Set up and calibrate invasive monitors.
• Order daily anesthesia supplies and replenish equipment.
• Report equipment malfunctions and coordinate maintenance.
• Verify operation of battery-run equipment in anesthesia.
• Conduct weekly inventory of supplies.
• Support infection control and housekeeping in the anesthesia workroom.
• Assist secretary with clerical duties at the control desk.
• Maintain Anesthesia and Operating Room Library and catalogs.
• Check emergency carts and supply anesthesia carts.
• Audit inventory and update listings for manager.
• Set up and calibrate invasive monitor transducers.
• Operate glucometer when needed.
