Job summary

Tufts Medicine seeks an Anesthesia Support Technician to assist in operating rooms with anesthesia preparation and monitoring equipment. The role includes cleaning, stocking, and maintaining inventory of anesthesia supplies, and supporting physicians and nurses in direct patient care.

Responsibilities also cover routine checks of anesthesia carts, inventory management, and ensuring equipment readiness for procedures. Strong attention to sterile technique and communication is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support Certification.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• Emergency Medical Technician Certification preferred.
• One year of related experience in Surgical Services, Operating Room, or PACU.

Responsibilities

• Assists anesthesiologists and nursing staff with direct patient care tasks.
• Prepares patient equipment and intubation support.
• Sets up IV solutions, arterial lines and equipment for anesthesia use.
• Orders daily anesthesia supplies from storeroom and Pharmacy; replaces when needed.
• Reports equipment malfunctions and maintains records of maintenance and testing.
• Performs routine checks of emergency and anesthesia carts; ensures inventory.
