Job summary

Capital Health is seeking a patient care assistant to support surgical teams in the operating room and perioperative areas. You will assist with retracting, positioning, and maintaining sterile fields during surgery, while helping with room turnover and patient transport to ensure smooth operation flows.

The role requires basic education, one year of related clinical experience, and AED certification. You will work a Monday–Friday schedule with a 40-hour week and competitive benefits available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• One year of clinical experience preferred (Patient Care Assistant, Nursing Assistant, or related).
• AHA Heartsaver AED certification required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgery by retracting, lifting, positioning, and holding body parts during procedures.
• Maintain sterile field and assist physicians and nurses in the operating room.
• Support turnover of operating rooms and keep perioperative areas clean and stocked.
• Transport patients and monitor during movement, ensuring scheduled flow.
• Prepare rooms, stretchers, and equipment for procedures; adhere to universal precautions.
