Job summary

MelroseWakefield Hospital, part of the Tufts Medicine system, is hiring an operating room support role responsible for turning over rooms, transporting patients, and preparing ORs for procedures. The role emphasizes safety, sterility, and coordination with the clinical care team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred.
• One year of experience in an operating room or surgical area is preferred.
• Knowledge of universal precautions, asepsis, and sterile technique is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with room turnover and setup using specialized OR equipment.
• Transport patients and supplies to and from the OR and act as liaison with CPD for kits and sterile items.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper storage in surgical suites and ensure safety standards are met.
• Position patients and assist with instrument and equipment setup for procedures.
