Job summary

Portland'5 Centers for the Arts seeks an Operating Engineer II to maintain and operate its complex building systems, ensuring safe and reliable performance for events and daily operations.

The role focuses on HVAC controls, electrical work under an LME license, and supporting plumbing, life safety, and building services across a major performing arts campus in the Portland area. Flexibility to work evenings and on-call shifts is required.

Qualifications

• Two years of operating engineer experience in a large facility.
• Oregon Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) license or higher.
• Valid driver's license.
• Be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification.
• Willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays; available for emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor HVAC and lighting controls according to schedules.
• Inspect and maintain HVAC units, boilers, chillers, pumps, and BACnet systems.
• Perform licensed electrical work and ensure safety protocols.
• Coordinate repairs with contractors and document work.
• Support plumbing, fire life safety and building systems.
