Job summary

JLL in Malvern, PA is seeking an Operating Engineer to operate, maintain, and monitor complex building systems including HVAC, boilers, chillers, pumps, and electrical distribution to keep occupants safe and comfortable. This hands-on role requires reading blueprints, applying preventive maintenance, responding to equipment issues, and coordinating with contractors.

The position offers training and growth within facilities management and environmental safety programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid stationary engineer license or equivalent certification as required locally.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience operating and maintaining commercial building systems.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, boilers, chillers, electrical systems, and BMS.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor building systems to ensure performance and energy efficiency.
• Perform preventive maintenance per schedule and document activities.
• Respond to emergency service calls and troubleshoot issues.
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors on repairs and major projects.
• Maintain logs in CMMS and monitor building automation systems.
