JLL is hiring an Operating Engineer for our Chicago sites. You will operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex building systems, with a focus on one craft area while staying multi-skilled. This union role supports exceptional facility performance, energy efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or state equivalent with two years of college or related trade schooling.
• Minimum of four years' experience with high pressure steam systems.
• City of Chicago Stationary Engineers License.
• EPA Universal Certification.
• Current Local 399 membership.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate and monitor facility systems in accordance with regulations.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical, plumbing, and life-safety systems.
• Maintain HVAC systems for optimal performance and energy efficiency.
• Respond to client inquiries professionally and timely.
• Monitor outside contractors’ work quality and costs.
• Assist with emergency situations and incident investigations.
