Job summary

Manpower, Inc. is recruiting a Building Operating Engineer for a leading commercial real estate and facilities management client in Nashville, TN.

You will maintain and operate complex building systems, focusing on reliability and occupant comfort on the first shift. Responsibilities include hands-on maintenance of HVAC, electrical and plumbing, preventive care, CMMS-based work orders, and coordination with contractors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and EPA Universal certification.
• Minimum 3 years of commercial building maintenance experience.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilities.
• Experience with CMMS platforms and/or Building Automation Systems (BAS) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs on building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire life safety).
• Execute preventive maintenance to ensure reliable operation.
• Respond to service requests; troubleshoot and repair with minimal disruption.
• Maintain accurate work orders and system information in CMMS.
• Assist with equipment installations and coordinate with contractors and vendors.

Our client a leading commercial real estate and facilities management company, is seeking a Building Operating Engineer to join their team. As a Building Operating Engineer, you will be part of the Facilities Operations team supporting the maintenance and operation of a commercial facility. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Building Operating Engineer

Location: Nashville, TN

Pay Range: $28-$31/hr

What’s the Job?

• Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs on commercial building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fire life safety equipment.
• Execute preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment to ensure reliable and efficient operation.
• Respond to service requests, troubleshoot equipment issues and complete repairs while minimizing disruption to building occupants.
• Maintain accurate work orders and building system information using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Assist with equipment installations and replacements and coordinate with outside contractors and vendors as needed.

What’s Needed?

• High school diploma or GED and EPA Universal certification.
• Minimum 3 years of commercial building maintenance experience, including HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude with proven troubleshooting abilities.
• Experience with CMMS platforms, computerized building systems and/or Building Automation Systems (BAS).
• Commercial kitchen equipment experience, including ovens, walk-in freezers, coolers and hoods, is a strong plus.
