Responsibilities

• Support maintenance and reliability for facility infrastructure and utility systems.
• Troubleshoot facility and equipment failures and coordinate repairs.
• Lead facility improvement, refurbishment, infrastructure, and CAPEX projects from planning through execution.
• Develop, implement, and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Analyze maintenance, utility, and reliability data to identify uptime improvements.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions for recurring issues.
• Manage contractors, vendors, service providers, and outside maintenance resources.
• Support maintenance budgeting, project tracking, purchase orders, and financial reporting.
• Develop and maintain maintenance procedures, SOPs, metrics, and reporting systems.
• Partner with maintenance, operations, engineering, and leadership teams to drive continuous improvement.

We Are Seeking a Facilities Maintenance Engineer

We are partnering with a leading manufacturing organization in the Nashville, TN area seeking a Facilities Maintenance Engineer to support plant infrastructure, maintenance reliability, utility systems, and capital improvement projects.

This is a hands-on engineering role for an experienced manufacturing professional who understands how facility systems impact production, safety, reliability, and operating costs. You will play a key role in maximizing facility uptime, troubleshooting infrastructure and equipment issues, managing contractors and vendors, and leading projects from initial planning through completion.

The ideal candidate brings strong industrial facilities or plant engineering experience and is comfortable working directly with maintenance teams, production personnel, contractors, and leadership in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support maintenance and reliability activities for facility infrastructure and utility systems.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred; significant equivalent experience may be considered.
• Minimum 5 years of facilities maintenance, plant engineering, or related experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of industrial utility and facility systems, including:
• Steam
• HVAC
• Compressed air
• Water systems
• Experience managing maintenance projects, infrastructure upgrades, and CAPEX initiatives.
• Proven troubleshooting and root cause analysis experience.
• Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Working knowledge of CMMS/EAM systems, such as Maximo.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing operations.
• Contractor and vendor management experience.
• Background in maintenance reliability and continuous improvement.
• Experience with 5S, maintenance excellence, or reliability-centered initiatives.
• Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA compliance requirements.
• Experience developing maintenance SOPs, KPIs, and performance metrics.
• Strong project budgeting and financial analysis skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting capabilities.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position requires regular interaction with both office and manufacturing environments. Responsibilities may include standing, walking, climbing stairs, and working around industrial equipment and facility utilities for extended periods.

The role may occasionally require lifting 25–50 lbs., working in varying temperatures, and wearing required PPE. Occasional after-hours, weekend, or emergency support may be necessary based on plant operations, maintenance requirements, or project demands.
