Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated in San Antonio, TX is seeking an Operating Engineer to maintain and troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, plumbing and related systems. The role involves preventive maintenance, facility upkeep and customer service in a dynamic commercial real estate environment.

We require 3+ years of relevant experience, trade-school or union training, and a valid driver's license. EPA certification is encouraged with JLL support; on-site work applies to a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• 3+ years of related work experience in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or carpentry
• Trade school education, union training, military service or college is desirable
• Universal CFC EPA certification or interest in achieving within first year with company assistance
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders up to 30 feet
• Strong customer service skills and valid driver's license

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned tasks across painting, cleaning, lighting, plumbing, HVAC, water treatment and general maintenance
• Maintain CMMS and complete tenant service requests
• Move furniture, machinery, equipment and other materials as needed
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections
• Assist in on-call or emergency response situations
• Troubleshoot electrical, DDC and pneumatic controls and follow safety procedures
• Participate in ongoing technical, safety and operational training

Operating Engineer

Develop your engineering career at JLL! The Operating Engineer supports operation, inspection and maintenance processes to mechanical, HVAC, electrical and plumbing equipment and systems.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7am-4pm

Compensation: $25-$30/hour

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Complete assigned tasks that include but are not limited to: painting, pressure washing cleaning, maintaining lighting system bulbs/ballasts (as allowed by any licensing requirements), plumbing, HVAC systems, water treatment, hanging pictures, repair office furniture, locksmith work and general maintenance
• Maintain work order system (CMMS) daily and complete any tenant service requests
• Moves office furniture, machinery, equipment, and other materials as requested
• Perform assigned preventive maintenance and inspection tasks
• Support on-call or emergency response situations (if applicable)
• Troubleshoot all building systems, including electrical, DDC and pneumatic controls
• Comply with all safety procedures
• Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs
• Other projects and tasks to be assigned

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

• 3+ years of related work experience, especially in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or carpentry
• Trade school education, union training, military service or college is desirable
• Universal CFC EPA certification or interest in achieving within first year (with JLL assistance)
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Comfort using ladders up to 30 feet tall
• Ability to frequently climb, bend, kneel, lift and/or drive
• Strong customer service skills
• Valid driver license
