Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated is seeking a Lead Operating Engineer for our Lake Mary, FL site. This on-site role leads the operation, inspection and maintenance of mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems, with occasional support to the Chief Engineer.

The position requires 3–5 years in repair/maintenance, trade-school education, and EPA universal certification or plan to obtain it within the first year.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of related work experience in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or carpentry.
• Trade school education, union training, military service or college is desirable.
• Universal CFC EPA certification or plan to achieve within first year (with JLL assistance).
• Leadership/supervisory experience.
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; comfortable using ladders up to 30 feet tall.
• Strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical and carpentry systems as assigned.
• Assist in supervising and implementing the preventative maintenance program.
• Maintain CMMS work orders daily and respond to tenant service requests.
• Provide training and supervision to expand the capabilities of the Engineering team.
• Support on-call or emergency response situations as needed.
• Troubleshoot building systems including electrical, DDC and pneumatic controls.
• Adhere to safety procedures and participate in ongoing safety training.

Lead Operating Engineer

The Lead Operating Engineer leads, with minimal supervision, the operation, inspection, and maintenance processes to mechanical, HVAC, electrical and plumbing equipment and systems. This role may include assisting the Chief Engineer with providing direction to the team.

Schedule:

7am- 4pm Monday through Friday + emergency on-call.

What your day-to-day will look like:

• Complete assigned tasks that include but are not limited to: painting, pressure washing, maintaining lighting system bulbs/ballasts, plumbing, HVAC systems, water treatment, locksmith work and general maintenance (as allowed by licensing requirements)
• Assist in supervising and implementing the preventative maintenance program
• Maintain work order system (CMMS) daily and complete any tenant service requests
• Assist in providing training and supervision aimed at expanding the capabilities of Engineering team
• Support on-call or emergency response situations (if applicable)
• Troubleshoot all building systems, including electrical, DDC and pneumatic controls
• Comply with all safety procedures
• Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs
• Other projects and tasks to be assigned

Required qualifications:

• 3-5 years of related work experience, especially in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or carpentry
• Trade school education, union training, military service or college is desirable

• Leadership/supervisory experience
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)
