The University of Nebraska-Lincoln in North Platte, Nebraska invites applications for a twelve-month, open rank extension educator or extension instructor. The role provides regional leadership for Nebraska Extension’s 4-H and Youth Development, delivering programs across Lincoln, Logan, and McPherson counties and beyond.

Collaborate with Extension specialists, researchers and county partners to develop engaging, research-based youth programming, recruit participants, and measure impact.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in youth development, education, or a closely related field (extension educator) OR bachelor’s degree (extension instructor).
• Successful experience teaching in a formal or non-formal setting.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate (publications, presentations, web, and social media).
• Experience working with youth and youth organizations; understanding positive youth development.

Responsibilities

• Develops and delivers proactive, engaging educational programs and products with broad reach and impact.
• Establishes and sustains a strong regional clientele base and programming portfolio.
• Collaborates with Extension specialists and research faculty to conduct applied and validation research.
• Completes PEARS data entry and reporting requirements; fulfills annual IANR reporting.
