Job summary

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln invites applications for an Extension Instructor or Open Rank Extension Educator in 4-H Youth Development serving Garden County. The role is based in Oshkosh, NE, with accountability to Garden and Morrill Counties.

Responsibilities include leading 4-H programming, collaborating with Extension Specialists, building local partnerships, and contributing to assessment and reporting while pursuing degree progress if needed.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in youth development, education, or a closely related field (extension educator) OR bachelor’s degree (extension instructor).
• Successful experience teaching in a formal or non-formal setting.
• Ability to communicate effectively in publications, presentations, web, and social media.
• Experience working with youth and youth organizations; understanding positive youth development.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver 4-H programming to Garden and Morrill Counties.
• Collaborate with Extension specialists and staff to develop engaging programs.
• Build local and regional clientele base and programming portfolio.
• Foster collaborations and secure partnerships for program funding and outreach.
• Complete PEARS data entry and reporting; contribute to annual impact reporting.
