Job summary

The University of Maryland School of Dentistry seeks an Open Rank Clinical Instructor or Assistant Professor to join Emergency Dental Services and Special Care & Geriatrics Clinic on a full-time basis.

The position combines clinical care in EDS and SC&G with supervising dental students and residents, including dentoalveolar surgery, emergency procedures, and geriatric care, in an interdisciplinary academic environment.

Qualifications

• DDS or DMD or equivalent degree.
• Eligible for licensure to practice dentistry in Maryland.
• Completion of AEGD, GPR, OMS residency, or equivalent preferred.
• Experience managing dental emergencies and dentoalveolar surgery.
• Experience in academic dentistry and teaching residents/students desirable.
• This position is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship; U.S. work authorization required.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency dental care in the EDS clinic and supervise students.
• Supervise Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residents and dental students.
• Coordinate referrals to specialty clinics and maintain clinical documentation.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental service.
• Engage in teaching within an interdisciplinary academic environment.
