Job summary

Capstone Copper Pinto Valley is seeking a Superintendent Mine Operations to lead production and development across the mine while ensuring safety, compliance, and budget adherence. You will coordinate between Geology, Planning, Maintenance, and Processing teams to optimize extraction and asset utilization.

Ideal candidates bring 10–15 years in mine operations/engineering, strong budgeting, and proven leadership.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mine Engineering.
10–15 years of experience in Mine Ops and Mine Engineering.
3–5 years of experience in Mine Ops and/or operational planning (short term or scheduling).
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, SAP among others).
Strong project management and budgeting skills.
Able to speak, comprehend, read, and write in English.

Responsibilities

Behaves in a way that demonstrates support of Capstone’s Vision and Values.
Manages and ensures all employees and contractors work in compliance with Pinto Valley Mine safety guidelines and procedures and ensures critical controls and procedures are in place.
Ensures all employees and contractors are certified to execute the tasks/jobs they are assigned.
Maintains department compliance with local, state, federal and company standards.
Coaches and mentors team member growth and development. Manages annual employee performance review process.
Coordinates between the Geology, Geotechnics, Planning, Primary Crushing, Maintenance, and Concentrator work teams for the execution of mine processes.
Defines and ensures compliance with the performance standards that will determine the mine's extraction capacity.
Ensures the proper execution of third‑party service contracts.
Designs and manages the operating and investment budget.
Manages the implementation of Mine Management safety plans, identifying fatality risks and the respective controls.
Manages and implements technological innovations in the area to optimize the production and safety process and maximize asset utilization.
Manages the implementation of personnel development policies and plans in their area.
Ensures the design, implementation, and compliance of the area's budget.
Manages the implementation of continuous improvement plans.
