Nevada Gold Mines seeks a Geologist III to lead mine geology activities at Cortez open pit. Focus on ore control, drill programs, and enhancing the geologic model with Acquire, Leapfrog, Deswik and Vulcan software.

Responsibilities include directing surface field work, mentoring junior geologists, and delivering accurate reporting to support mine planning and earnings growth. Emphasis on safety leadership and cross‑functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology or a related field.
• Minimum four years' experience in open pit or underground mine geology.
• Experience leading technical teams with strong interdepartmental communication.
• Familiarity with Vulcan, Deswik, Leapfrog, and Acquire software.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent safety record with leadership.

Responsibilities

• Driving zero harm workplace through safety programs and stop-work authority.
• Build relationships with Engineering, Operations, Process, Environment, Growth, Exploration, Safety and Finance.
• Develop geological mapping, drilling, and logging programs.
• Mentor and train junior geologists and ensure best practices.
• Perform daily surface field work and drill inspections.
• Oversee daily mine geology activities (blast hole and face wall mapping).
• Track ore from mine to process facilities for ore control duties.
• Design and implement drill programs; interpret results.
• Collaborate with geology and resource modeling teams to ensure accurate models and estimations.
