Nevada Gold Mines is seeking an Open Pit Geotechnical Engineering Superintendent to lead our internal geotechnical design team. You will guide projects from scoping through active mining to closure, ensuring safe designs and collaboration with site teams.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Geological Engineering and 10+ years of open pit geotechnical experience, with proficiency in Rocscience, Maptek, LeapFrog, Deswik, and Vulcan, plus strong communication and leadership skills.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Geological Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years hands-on geotechnical experience at an active open pit mine site.
• Experience with data collection and assessment of rock mass and rock fabric properties.
• Strong understanding of soil and rock properties, anisotropy and effects on slope design.
• Knowledge of soils and rock deformability properties.
• Open pit blasting techniques and controls experience.
• Experience with bench to overall slope design workflows.
• Proficiency in Rocscience, Maptek IRC, LeapFrog.
• Experience with Deswik and/or Maptek Vulcan preferred.
• Ability to interpret/review numerical model inputs and 3-D geologic models.
• Experience in bench/inter-ramp slope design compliance.
• Demonstrated ability to manage short and long term projects; scheduling and budgeting.
• Teamwork; supervisory experience of engineers/technicians.

Responsabilidades

• Data collection and assessment of rock mass and fabric properties.
• Interpret lab and field testing of soils and rocks.
• Geotechnical analyses using Rocscience, Maptek IRC, LeapFrog, Deswik, Vulcan.
• Develop geotechnical slope designs at bench, inter-ramp, and overall slope.
• Prepare technical memos and reports.
• Maintain strong written and oral communication with staff at all levels.
• Develop Open Pit geotechnical design SOPs.
• Manage geotechnical design projects across the NGM open pit portfolio.
• Mentor engineers and technicians.
