Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking an Open Pit Electrician to join the Open Pit Maintenance team. The successful candidate will maintain and repair electrical systems on P&H 2800XPA/B and 4100 XPB/C electric shovels, 930E and 830E Komatsu haul trucks, HV switchgear, and related electrical duties.

The role requires experience in an open pit mining environment, ability to read electrical blueprints, and proficiency with PLC SL504 and high‑voltage cables.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years electrical experience in an open pit mining environment preferred.
• Industrial electrical experience preferred.
• Experience with programmable logic controls (PLC) SL504, motor controls circuits, high-voltage cable repairs preferred.
• Experience with maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems on P&H 200XPA/B shovels, 685E, and 930E electric haul trucks preferred.
• Ability to read electrical blueprints and utilize test equipment preferred.
• Ability to utilize basic hand tools required.
• MSHA electrical cards preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Capability to multi-task, self-manage and self-motivate required.
• Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair electrical systems on P&H 2800XPA/B and 4100 XPB/C electric shovels, 930E and 830E Komatsu Haul Trucks, 795F and 282 Liebherr haul trucks, HV Switchgear, and HV cable repairs
• Miscellaneous electrical duties
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• The ability to work a rotating schedule of nights and days is an essential function of this role.
