Position Description

Open Pit Electrician for Cortez operations. A successful candidate will have the capabilities to perform equipment repairs and similar duties that require no oversight or direction.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, and installs electrical equipment and systems, utilizing technical, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
• Performs general maintenance duties.
• Works on projects throughout the entire facility running conduit, pulling wire, and connecting devices, using lifts and ladders.
• Performs equipment repairs and similar duties that require no oversight or direction.
• Uses complex electrical schematics and blueprints to troubleshoot and correct problems.
• Displays positive attitudes and practices good work ethics that reflect the mission, philosophy, and goals of the company.
• Provides excellent customer service.
• Completes tasks in a timely manner and provides feedback.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5+ years related work experience as an Industrial or Commercial Electrician.
• Knowledge in using hand tools, electrical meter, and testing equipment.
• Efficient in sizing conductors, conduits, and using NEC Code Book.
• Experienced in handling low to high voltage up to 480 VAC.
• Strong knowledge in troubleshooting of motor controls, drives, and electronic components.
• Ability to interpret electrical prints and schematics (preferred).
• Ability to install electrical equipment and circuit modification (preferred).
• Ability to work in high elevation up to 80 ft. high.
• Ability to lift and carry at least 90 pounds.
• Perform job responsibilities with integrity under minimal to no supervision.
• Proven attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
• Excellent organizational, time management skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently.
• Demonstrated well-developed interpersonal skills, with a courteous and pleasant customer service focus.
• Excellent verbal, written, and radio communication skills.
• Capability to multi‑task, self‑manage and self‑motivate.
• Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards.
• Willingness to work weekends and possible overtime.
• Willingness to work in inclement weather conditions.
