Job summary

Spring Valley Hospital, part of The Valley Health System in Las Vegas, seeks a Surgical Technologist to support cardiothoracic procedures on the Open Heart team. The role involves assisting in instrumentation and managing heart-lung pump equipment in a high-volume cardiovascular service line.

The candidate must have a CST certification, BLS, and at least two years of scrub experience in a major OR. Strong teamwork and adherence to safety protocols are essential.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Successful completion of an accredited surgical technologist program or equivalent training per US Public Health Service, Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines or Coast Guard.
• Current CST certification from NBSTSA and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist cardiothoracic surgeons with instrumentation for Open Heart surgery.
• Prepare and manage tubings used by the heart-lung (pump) machine.
• Provide care and support appropriate to the age of the patient.
