Job summary

Spring Valley Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support cardiothoracic procedures in the Open Heart theater. The role involves assisting surgeons with instruments and the heart-lung pump setup, ensuring sterile technique and patient safety throughout procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent; completion of an accredited surgical technologist program or equivalent military/training path.
• Minimum of two years scrubbing experience in a major operating room; at least one year of Open Heart Scrub experience.
• Current CST certification from NBSTSA and current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist cardiothoracic surgeons with instrumentation for Open Heart surgery.
• Assist in preparation and management of tubings used by the heart-lung (pump) machine.
• Provide age-appropriate care and support as part of the surgical team.
