Job summary

Spring Valley Hospital, part of The Valley Health System in Las Vegas, seeks a Surgical Technologist to assist cardiothoracic surgeons with instrumentation for Open Heart procedures and to help manage equipment and tubings used by the heart-lung pump machine.

Requirements include a CST certification, current BLS, and a minimum of two years scrub experience in a major OR with at least one year in Open Heart scrub duties; education should include a accredited surgical technologist program or

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; surgical technologist program accredited or approved training.
• Experience: minimum 2 years scrubbing in a major operating room; at least 1 year Open Heart Scrub Technician.
• Licensure: CST certification from NBSTSA and current BLS.
• Other: age-appropriate care knowledge; pre-2018 hires exempt from certification

Responsibilities

• Assist cardiothoracic surgeons with instrumentation of Open Heart surgery.
• Assist in preparation and management of tubings used by the heart-lung pump machine.
