Qualifications

• Completions of training at an accredited school of perfusion technology.
• Must be certified or certified-eligible by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion.

Responsibilities

• Operates heart-lung machine pump console and CPB circuit to support open heart surgery.
• Monitors CPB parameters and maintains safe physiological conditions during perfusion.
• Administers medications under surgical supervision; manages temperature, blood pressure, gases and ACT.
• Maintains perfusion records and ensures inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Supports IABP operations and intra-operative interventions as needed.
