Linn-Benton Community College is seeking an Instructional Designer to support the Open Oregon Educational Resources program across Oregon colleges and universities. The role emphasizes open licensing, accessibility, and collaboration with faculty to develop sustainable OER materials.

The position is full-time, temporary through the grant ending 2029-09-30, with travel within the state and remote/home-based work options.

Qualifikationen

• Requires master’s degree in instructional design; or master’s degree in related field with increasingly responsible work experience in education.
• Familiarity with open education, open textbooks, open access, copyright, and intellectual property.
• Experience working with faculty and students.

Aufgaben

• Collaborate with faculty to develop engaging, open-licensed courses and curricula accessible to all students.
• Promote open educational resources via openoregon.org and other channels.
• Develop standards for OER formats (textbooks, websites, videos, etc).
• Organize professional development on instructional design, assessment, technologies, and open educational practices for higher education in Oregon.
• Produce openly licensed documentation, reports, and instructional materials (websites, tutorials).
• Prioritize accessibility and ensure OER published via Oregon’s statewide program meets current standards.
• Model use of instructional technologies (LMS, databases, web tools) with emphasis on open source options.
• Evaluate purchasing or creation of new platforms/tools to enhance open educational practices.
• Track increases in collection usage and student savings; contribute to statewide impact reports.
• Plan sustainable statewide instructional design support.
