Job summary

Linn-Benton Community College seeks an Instructional Designer to support Oregon's statewide OER program. You will collaborate with faculty, departments, and grantees to develop open, affordable course materials, assess impact, and promote best practices in inclusive design and accessibility.

This full-time, grant-funded role reports to the college and program director, with remote/onsite flexibility. A master’s in instructional design and strong collaboration skills are required, along with

Qualifications

• Requires a master’s degree in instructional design or related field with experience in education.
• Familiarity with open education concepts, open textbooks, and IP considerations.
• Experience collaborating with faculty and students in higher education.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with faculty to develop open licensed courses and curricula.
• Write promotional messages and increase visibility of OER.
• Develop standards for OER across formats (textbooks, syllabi, websites, videos).
• Organize professional development on instructional design, assessment, tech, and open practices.
• Research, write and produce instructional materials to support faculty learning.
• Prioritize accessibility best practices for OER published statewide.
• Model use of instructional technologies and open source tools.
• Evaluate and recommend new platforms, tools, and processes for open educational practices.
• Report on usage and student savings resulting from the statewide OER program.
• Plan sustainable statewide instructional design support.
