Job summary

UFP Site Built in the United States is seeking a Truss Designer to design roof and floor trusses for single- and multi-family and commercial projects. The role uses Mitek software to create metal plate-connected wood trusses and wall panels, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, 2–5 years of truss design experience, and knowledge of floor and roof systems to specify beams and hangers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline preferred or equivalent.
• 2–5 years of roof/floor truss design experience required.
• Mitek software knowledge preferred; experience with floor/roof systems and specifying beams/hangars.

Responsibilities

• Design metal plate-connected wood trusses and wall panels using Mitek software.
• Optimize designs for maximum efficiency.
• Review orders, layouts, and data files for accuracy.
• Assist sales and production with design services and troubleshooting.
• Perform other duties as required.

The Truss Designer is responsible for the accurate design of roof and floor trusses for single-family, multi-family, and commercial projects.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Design metal plate-connected wood trusses and Wall Panels utilizing Mitek software

• Optimize designs for maximum efficiency

• Review orders, layouts, and data files for accuracy

• Assist sales and production with design service and troubleshooting

• Performs other duties as required

Qualifications

• Minimum high school graduate

• Preferred bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent

• Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in roof/floor truss design required

• Working knowledge and experience using Mitek software are preferred

• Working knowledge of floor and rood systems and the ability to spec out beams and hangars
