Job summary

UFP Site Built, part of UFP Industries, Inc., designs and manufactures value-added wood and non-wood products for the construction industry. The Truss Designer creates roof and floor trusses for single-family, multi-family, and commercial projects using Mitek software to maximize efficiency.

Responsibilities include reviewing orders and data for accuracy, assisting sales and production with design services and troubleshooting, and performing other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school graduate.
• Preferred bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in roof/floor truss design required.
• Working knowledge and experience using Mitek software are preferred.
• Working knowledge of roof and floor systems and the ability to spec out beams and hangars.

Responsibilities

• Design metal plate-connected wood trusses and Wall Panels utilizing Mitek software.
• Optimize designs for maximum efficiency.
• Review orders, layouts, and data files for accuracy.
• Assist sales and production with design service and troubleshooting.

The Truss Designer is responsible for the accurate design of roof and floor trusses for single-family, multi-family, and commercial projects.

• Optimize designs for maximum efficiency

• Review orders, layouts, and data files for accuracy
