Job summary

UFP Site Built in Chicopee, MA is seeking a Truss Designer to design metal plate-connected wood trusses and wall panels using Mitek software for residential and commercial projects.

The role involves optimizing designs, reviewing orders and data files, and assisting sales and production with design service and troubleshooting. Requires a high school diploma and 2–5 years of truss design experience; knowledge of floors and roofs is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent
• 2–5 years of experience in roof/floor truss design
• Working knowledge of Mitek software preferred
• Knowledge of floor and roof systems and ability to spec beams and hangars

The Truss Designer is responsible for the accurate design of roof and floor trusses for single-family, multi-family, and commercial projects.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Design metal plate-connected wood trusses and Wall Panels utilizing Mitek software

• Optimize designs for maximum efficiency

• Review orders, layouts, and data files for accuracy

• Assist sales and production with design service and troubleshooting

• Performs other duties as required

Qualifications

• Minimum high school graduate

• Preferred bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent

• Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in roof/floor truss design required

• Working knowledge and experience using Mitek software are preferred

• Working knowledge of floor and rood systems and the ability to spec out beams and hangars
