Job summary

Via is rebuilding a transit service in Tulare, CA, and seeks a Strategy & Operations Principal to own the end-to-end performance of the operation. You will lead strategic design, day-to-day discipline, and team development in a fast-paced, onsite role.

The role requires 5+ years of complex operations leadership, a Bachelor's degree, and a data-driven approach to improve service quality, safety, and cost efficiency. On-site daily in Tulare, CA is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own a clear vision for the transit service and lead the team to implement it.
• Build operating systems, staffing models, and service cadences with culture and accountability.
• Communicate change narrative to team, partners, and community stakeholders.
• Own end-to-end operating strategy: on-time performance, rider experience, safety, and cost.
• Define KPIs and translate data into operational decisions.
• Design staffing models and scheduling for 24/7 service reliability.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and company policies.
• Lead frontline operations team from hiring to performance management.
• Develop frontline leaders for growth as service scales.
• Manage partner relationships with trust and transparent execution.
• Represent Via to community, officials, and riders.
