Job summary

Arcadis seeks a highly skilled Resident Engineer to support a major Transit Authority in Seattle. You will serve as the Authority’s on-site technical lead, overseeing construction activities, ensuring safety, quality, and alignment with project goals while maintaining compliant field operations.

You will manage field engineering tasks, review submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings, and mentor staff. Collaboration with operations, safety, and external partners is essential to minimize service

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• PE license preferred; active licensure valued.
• 10+ years in engineering or construction management, with transit/rail experience.
• Experience with transit systems and public-sector procurement.

Responsibilities

• Represent the consulting firm and Transit Authority as on-site engineering lead.
• Provide daily oversight of contractor activities and safety compliance.
• Review submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and technical clarifications.
• Coordinate with designers and stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Prepare daily reports, field memos, and deficiency logs.
• Support testing, commissioning, and turnover activities.
