Collins Aerospace in Sterling, VA is seeking a Software Engineer II for Training System Software on site. You will design, implement, and test multi-threaded applications for realistic simulators and training systems, collaborating with systems, hardware, and test teams in a fast-paced agile environment while maintaining readiness for a US security clearance.

The role requires a STEM degree with 2+ years of experience, a working knowledge of C/C++, and U.S. citizenship.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• U.S. citizenship is required for access to program information.
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued secret clearance is required prior to start.
• Working knowledge of C/C++.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and test software on cross-functional agile teams.
• Highly motivated software developer.
• Perform software debugging.
• Work independently with general supervision.
• Provide engineering estimates for own work.
• Contribute to bidding and proposal activities.
• Contribute to requirements capture and analysis for software and systems.
• Travel to domestic and international customer sites to support training events and product installations.
