Job summary

RTX is seeking a Software Engineer II – Training System Software to join our Sterling, VA team onsite. This role requires US citizenship and an active security clearance on day one, with responsibilities across design, implementation, and testing of training system software for high-fidelity simulators.

The position emphasizes collaboration across software, systems, and hardware in a fast-paced agile environment, with travel to customer sites and a daily onsite presence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering or math with relevant work experience.
• U.S. citizenship required and ability to obtain/maintain security clearance.
• Active secret clearance or the ability to obtain one prior to start.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and test multi-threaded software in a fast-paced agile team.
• Collaborate with systems, hardware and test to deliver mission-focused features.
• Provide engineering estimates and support bidding/proposals.
• Travel to domestic and international customer sites as needed.
