Job summary

SprintRay is seeking a Manufacturing & Tooling Engineer in Los Angeles, CA. This hands-on role focuses on designing, building, and refining jigs, fixtures, and assembly aids to enable repeatable, high-quality production on the factory floor.

You’ll own the full lifecycle of production tooling—from concept and CAD design to fabrication coordination and on-site validation, partnering with QC to enforce process controls in a regulated hardware environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience in a mechanical design, manufacturing, or tooling engineering role.
• Proficient in CAD for jig, fixture, and tooling design (SolidWorks).
• Experience designing and building fixtures and tooling.
• Understanding of design for manufacturability and assembly (DFM/DFA) and tolerancing.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and iterate jigs, fixtures, and assembly aids in-house for repeatable, high-quality assembly processes.
• Own the full lifecycle of production tooling: concept, CAD design, fabrication/machining coordination, validation on the production floor.
• Identify opportunities to reduce variation, cycle time, or operator burden and translate into working designs.
• Write clear design and requirement specs for external vendors and manage quoting and delivery.
• Coordinate vendor relationships for outsourced equipment and conduct acceptance testing on arrival.
• Collaborate with QC to define and enforce process controls and work instructions.
