Job summary

WET (Design) in Burbank, CA seeks a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to own production processes for machined components, assemblies, LED lighting hardware, and water-system parts on the factory floor.

You will translate designs into manufacturable plans, develop tooling, run trials, and partner with machinists, engineers, and inspectors to ensure quality, efficiency, and repeatable results across high-fidelity systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
• Experience translating design intent to production on the shop floor.
• Ability to develop fixtures, tooling, and processes for repeatable manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Translate design into production by reviewing drawings, BOMs, and specs for manufacturability.
• Develop manufacturing plans, process flows, routings, work instructions, and assembly sequences.
• Support prototype builds, first builds, and production introductions; capture lessons learned.
• Evaluate design and process changes for effects on tooling, cost, and schedule.
• Develop and improve processes for machined components, assemblies, and LED lighting hardware.
• Define process parameters, acceptance criteria, and verification steps with Design and Quality Engineering.
• Plan and conduct trials to establish workable process windows and production readiness.
• Identify opportunities for fixtures, mistake-proofing, or automation to improve safety and throughput.
• Provide responsive engineering support on floor for issues and root-cause analysis.
• Balance urgency with safety, quality, and change-control requirements.
