Job summary

SMARTECH-CSI is seeking an experienced Tier II Field Service Hardware Technician to provide onsite break/fix support for commercial customers in Lafayette, LA and surrounding regions. This contractor role requires daily travel to client locations to diagnose, repair, and replace computer hardware and peripherals.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, dependable, and capable of independently managing service calls while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of field break/fix computer hardware experience.
• Strong troubleshooting for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
• Experience with enterprise hardware (Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc.).
• Windows 10/11 knowledge; basic TCP/IP networking.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for daily travel.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various environments.

Responsibilities

• Respond to dispatched service calls within SLAs.
• Diagnose and repair desktops, laptops, servers, and peripherals on site.
• Replace hardware components and configure BIOS/firmware.
• Troubleshoot Windows OS and network connectivity.
• Support printers, scanners, POS, and related devices.
• Document all work and parts used via dispatch app.
• Maintain inventory and safe, organized work environment.
