Job summary

MGT Impact Solutions seeks an Onsite Tier 1 Help Desk Technician for a full-time, 40-hour-per-week onsite role in Albany, NY. This SOW staff-augmentation engagement provides frontline IT support and teamwork with senior staff to maintain operations in a public transportation environment.

The candidate will handle desktop/hardware issues, account management in Active Directory, and basic network connectivity tasks while delivering strong customer service and documentation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience in Help Desk, Desktop Support, IT Support, Technical Support, or a closely related role.
• Hands-on experience with Windows desktop operating systems and AD user management.
• Strong customer service and communication skills; able to document incidents clearly.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1 end-user technical support for hardware, software, peripherals, and connectivity issues.
• Install, configure, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
• Diagnose and resolve Windows OS, application, hardware, and user-access issues; manage AD accounts.
• Troubleshoot basic LAN, Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP connectivity; escalate as needed.
• Document incidents, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in the service-management system.
