Job summary

Raytheon seeks a Systems Administrator to join a high-performing, on-site team supporting a VM-based data system critical to a government function. The role requires 24x7x365 operations with active collaboration with ISP, support factories, and customer teams.

You will operate on-site in Springfield, VA, coordinating with St. Louis colleagues while ensuring rapid troubleshooting and restoral capabilities. A strong security clearance and DoD context are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of related experience (or an advanced degree with 2+ years).
• Active and transferable U.S. government security clearance required; U.S. citizenship required.
• Security+ certification.
• Linux system administration experience.
• Experience in the Intelligence Community (IC).
• Experience with dislocated/geographically separated operations.
• Experience with LDAP, NFS, TCP/IP, Splunk, Grafana, NIS/NIS+.
• Experience issuing and managing PKI certifications.
• Experience with SQL, C++, and Java.

Responsibilities

• Ensure maximum system availability and reliability.
• Follow engineering instructions to perform system updates/upgrades with ISP and support teams.
• Perform system administration functions and VM-based services.
• Contribute to technical documentation and able to restoral operations.
• Support the 24x7x365 operations of the system and user inquiries.
• Coordinate with on-site and remote teams to sustain mission-critical performance.
