Job summary

Raytheon seeks a Systems Administrator to join a high-performing, on-site team supporting a VM-based data system critical to a government function. The role requires 24x7x365 operations with active collaboration with ISP, support factories, and customer teams.

You will operate on-site in Springfield, VA, coordinating with St. Louis colleagues while ensuring rapid troubleshooting and restoral capabilities. A strong security clearance and DoD context are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of related experience (or an advanced degree with 2+ years).
• Active and transferable U.S. government security clearance required; U.S. citizenship required.
• Security+ certification.
• Linux system administration experience.
• Experience in the Intelligence Community (IC).
• Experience with dislocated/geographically separated operations.
• Experience with LDAP, NFS, TCP/IP, Splunk, Grafana, NIS/NIS+.
• Experience issuing and managing PKI certifications.
• Experience with SQL, C++, and Java.

Raytheon seeks a Systems Administrator to join a high-performing team at the heart of an important US government function which helps the nation meet its national security strategy. This is for an on-site system administrator sustaining and maintaining a VM-based data system supporting a high visibility system critical to this agency’s day-to-day and contingency operations. This architecturally complex, multi-networked system has many users who demand quick troubleshooting, active workflow management, and restoral operations as needed.

The selected candidate will work an Operations and Sustainment team, embedded on-site, with customer presence, for a system considered mission critical by the customer. The system is responsible for successful 24x7x365 operations of the ASP side of the system, with very detailed assistance to the ISP part of the system. This position operates at a customer facility in Springfield, VA, and will coordinate with another team in St Louis, MO. This position is 6am-6pm Saturday and Sunday, with 2 daytime 8 hours shifts during the week

What You Will Do

• - Ensure maximum system availability.
• - Follow engineering instructions to conduct system updates/upgrades in coordination with the ISP and the support factory.
• - System administration functions.
• - Conduct VM-based services to ensure system operation.
• - Support development/modification of technical documentation.
• - Complete and track lessons learned and metrics.

Qualifications You Must Have

• - Typically requires a Bachelor’s and a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advance Degree in a related field and a minimum of 2 years’ experience.
• - Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
• - Security+ certification.
• - System administration experience across Linux systems.
• - Experience in the Intelligence Community (IC).
• - Experience working with dislocated or geographically separated operations.
• - Experience with (and/or) LDAP, NFS, TCP/IP, Splunk, Grafana, and NIS/NIS+.
• - Experience in issuing and managing PKI Certifications.
• - Experience with (and/or) SQL, C++ and Java.

Qualifications We Prefer

• - Ability to work in an operational environment with attention to detail.
• - Red Hat Enterprise Linux Certifications:RHCT or RHSA.
• - Security+ DoD 8570 certification or higher.
• - Good communication and organizational skills.
• - Ability to contribute to technical documentation.
• - Comfortable performing duties collocated with the customer and other operations center residents.
• - Proven ability in strong customer support.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
