Job summary

FIS in Fairfield, CA is seeking a System Administrator II to maintain and optimize the critical technology infrastructure that supports business operations and fintech services. You will administer Windows and Linux environments, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement improvements to reliability and security.

The role requires collaboration across teams, proactive incident response, and automation scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience administering enterprise server environments and infrastructure platforms.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server and/or Linux administration.
• Experience with virtualization, cloud or hybrid infrastructure.
• Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, performance management, and incident resolution.
• Scripting/automation using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Windows, Linux, and virtualized server environments.
• Monitor infrastructure health and capacity; proactively resolve issues.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, OS, and network incidents.
• Apply patches and maintenance following change management.
• Support identity and access management and security controls.
• Develop automation scripts to improve efficiency.
• Manage backup, recovery and DR processes.
