Job summary

FIS seeks a Manager of Systems Administration to lead a team responsible for reliability, performance, security, and scalability of enterprise infrastructure supporting fintech services. You will guide operational excellence, governance, and modernization while partnering with security, engineering, and client leaders.

The role emphasizes leadership, stakeholder management, and service delivery over daily admin tasks, with success measured by availability, security, and team performance.

Qualifications

• Experience leading systems administration, infrastructure operations, or platform support teams.
• Knowledge of enterprise operating systems, server infrastructure, virtualization, cloud tech, and operations.
• Experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop systems administration professionals with accountability and continuous improvement.
• Manage performance, coaching, and workforce planning for the team.
• Oversee availability, performance, security, and reliability of critical systems.
• Administer Windows, Linux, virtualized, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure.
• Establish service standards and performance metrics aligned to priorities.
• Drive modernization, automation, and optimization to reduce risk.
• Partner with cybersecurity teams on controls, patching, and compliance.
• Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and service restoration.
• Plan capacity, lifecycle, backups, and disaster recovery readiness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for delivery and projects.
• Develop operational processes, standards, docs, and governance.
• Act as technical quarterback for Managed IT services and trusted advisor.
• Coordinate across engineering, operations, cloud, and security to meet client needs.
• Lead service delivery and issue resolution with right teams.
• Guide and develop direct team members where applicable.
• Build relationships with client stakeholders via regular meetings.
• Partner with Account Management on future needs and roadmaps.
• Ensure services evolve with client expectations and identify improvement opportunities.
• Support escalations and coordinate critical issue resolution.
• Lead regular service reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
