Job summary

UChicago Medicine is seeking a Staff Nurse for the 3 CN General Observation-Surgical unit at the Hyde Park campus. This 0.6 FTE, onsite position serves the greater Chicagoland area and supports multidisciplinary team care on a fast-paced surgical unit.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an NLN-accredited School of Nursing.
• ADN required; BSN degree or higher preferred.
• Current Illinois RN license. ADN nurses must enroll in BSN within 6–9 months and progress toward BSN within 30 months with 100% tuition reimbursement.
• BLS from American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes assessment skills to determine patient needs.
• Develops care plans for patients; collaborates with Case Manager as needed.
• Assumes charge nurse responsibilities as assigned.
• Provides peer support and teamwork.
• Participates in development/attainment of goals and objectives.
• Uses clinical pathways and plans of care.

Education

NLN-accredited School of Nursing

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Current Illinois RN license

BSN preferred
