Job summary

Avidex is seeking an Onsite Support Technician II to provide hands-on AV/IT support at client sites in Fremont. You will troubleshoot, operate, and maintain integrated AV/IT systems, ensuring reliable performance for meetings and events.

You will work closely with customers and internal teams to resolve issues, document actions, and uphold safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of technical or onsite support experience in AV/IT.
• AVIXA CTS certification or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Working knowledge of Windows and Apple environments and computer networking.
• Experience operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining integrated AV/IT systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite AV/IT support for meetings, conferences, and events.
• Troubleshoot, test, repair, and adjust AV/IT and control systems.
• Coordinate AV resources for scheduled events and last-minute requests.
• Perform preventive maintenance and document issues, repairs, and resolutions.

Position Overview

The Onsite Support Technician II provides onsite technical support, operation, and maintenance of audiovisual (AV) and IT systems at a customer location. Working closely with customers, Avidex team members, and technical resources, this role helps ensure systems operate reliably and that meetings, conferences, and events receive the appropriate technical support.

The position is responsible for troubleshooting and resolving AV/IT system issues, performing preventive maintenance, supporting meeting and event technology, and documenting service activity. Success in this role requires hands-on AV/IT experience, strong troubleshooting skills, a working knowledge of computers and networking, and the ability to provide responsive, professional support in a customer-facing environment.

What You'll Do

• Provide onsite AV/IT support for meetings, conferences, and events, including setup, operation, and tear-down.
• Troubleshoot, test, repair, and adjust integrated AV/IT and control systems.
• Coordinate AV resources for scheduled events and last-minute support requests.
• Perform preventive maintenance and document system issues, repairs, and resolutions.
• Review and manage open support tickets and service requests.
• Provide technical assistance to team members as needed.
• Maintain accurate service documentation, timesheets, expense reports, and parts records.
• Follow company and customer safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• 2+ years of technical or onsite support experience in the AV/IT industry.
• AVIXA CTS certification or ability to obtain it within one year.
• Working knowledge of Windows and Apple environments and computer networking.
• Experience operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining integrated AV/IT systems.
• Experience using AV/IT hand tools, test equipment, and related software.
• Strong customer service, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a customer-facing environment.

Work Requirements

• Schedule may vary based on customer needs, including occasional weekend work.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, kneel, and crouch as required.Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to work in varying environmental conditions.
